Week 17, Discussion 1
Out of the three speeches that we gave, the speech that was my favorite would have to be the informative speech. I didn’t mind doing research on this topic or writing my speech for it because I thought my topic was interesting. It was by far the easiest speech for me to write. I have taken psychology before so I recognized a lot of the words and I was able to connect all of the different concepts together without thinking extremely hard about them. I also enjoyed listening to the other students give their speeches because it isn’t every day that you learn so much about the most, I guess you could say random, things.

I already chose my actuative speech to be my favorite, but informative would come in second. That's really good you found your topic interesting and wasn't lazy about looking up the research for the topic or writing about it. That's awesome it was your easiest speech to write! Makes things run more smoothly. It helps to have taken a class that makes you recognize all the words and the ability to connect the different concepts together so you don't have to think hard, as you said. Glad you enjoyed listening to other students speeches, best to have open ears and an open mind. Always learning something new every day!

ReplyDeleteA lot of people agreed with you in choosing the second speech as their favorite. I did not chose the informative I instead chose the the persuasive one. I think we all can agree that the first speech was our least favorite as we were nervous and probably did not pick the most interesting topics. What I did like about the informative speech is that I was very interested in my topic so all I had to do is find some credible sources that would back up my information. I will admit that was the easiest one to research and present. I also agree with you that it was interesting to hear the other speeches because they varied tremendously and I learned something new with each one.

ReplyDeleteI picked the informative speech to be my favorite speech also! I agree with you by it being super easy to write, because it was a subject that you're already acknowledged about. So it's like writing up a quick paper and presenting it to the class. And also, for the second time around I'm sure we were all a bit more comfortable being up there since we've all given out first speech already. We were more familiar with the environment and the people. I remember bits and pieces about your topic. It was super interesting. And it's weird how the higher percentage of kidnapping is from relatives! That's so creepy to think about.
Hi there! I also thought this speech was the easiest! I think it was because all we had to do was inform the audience of a certain topic, we didn't have to try and persuade them to do something or think differently. Hey, I also thought it was the easiest mainly because the topics were ones that we had like already known about. What I mean was that it was a topic we had already been familiar with, not a new out of this world vocabulary word! I thought that the first speech was the most difficult and the last speech was second, the second speech was the least difficult. :D
